New from SFA Saniflo, the SANISWIFT gray water pumping system offers powerful, economical pumping action in a compact, contemporary design. The unit is shipped fully assembled, with the pump placed inside its covered bucket-shaped container, ready for installation.

“This saves the plumber installation time,” says Saniflo CEO Regis Saragosti, “while our distributors need to carry only one SKU [stock keeping unit], instead of two.”

Equipped with three different inlets – two on the bottom and one on top – the SANISWIFT can handle up to 18 gallons of wastewater per minute from three different fixtures, including sinks and showers as well as washing machines and laundry tubs. Measuring only 8¾ inches high and 10¼ inches wide, the compact unit with its attractive, rounded contours fits neatly into tight spaces.

Like the other models in the Saniflo line of macerating systems, the fully automatic SANISWIFT drains swiftly through small-diameter (one inch) plastic piping that runs entirely above the floor (inside or outside the walls). As a result, new plumbing fixtures can be installed where no drainage currently exists.

Spared the expense and hassle of breaking through floors to install conventional drain lines, home or building owners can create an extra kitchen, bath or utility area anywhere in their spaces. “The SANISWIFT can be installed in a variety of locations,” Regis Saragosti continues, “including a loft or an attic; an upper floor or the ground floor; or in a basement, a laundry room or even a garage that is being converted into living or working space.”

Key reasons to buy: Made of a durable polypropylene, the SANISWIFT offers these six distinguishing performance features:

  • Three wastewater inlets: The SANISWIFT can handle wastewater from up to three sanitary fixtures or appliances simultaneously through a trio of 1.5-inch inlets. Water entering the pressure chamber triggers a microswitch, activating the pump motor.

  • One-inch discharge line: Discharging up to 18 gallons per minute, the pump immediately moves the wastewater out of the pressure chamber and through a discharge pipe only one inch in diameter, versus 1.5 inches on competitive models.

  • Factory-installed check valve: The discharge line is connected to the SANISWIFT with a plastic discharge elbow, containing a built-in non-return check valve that keeps wastewater from flowing back into the unit. This factory-installed valve saves the installer time and extra expense on the job site.

  • Long pumping distances for greater installation flexibility: The one-inch discharge pipe can extend upwards of 14 feet vertically and 140 feet horizontally to the soil stack, giving the end user greater choice on where to position the unit – and therefore where to locate a new bath, bar, kitchen, laundry room, etc. (A vertical run of 3 feet is equal to a horizontal run of 30 feet.)

  • Quiet, energy-conserving operation: After the wastewater has been discharged from the pressure chamber, the microswitch automatically deactivates the SANISWIFT, which remains idle until wastewater enters the unit again and the operating cycle begins anew. This cycle normally lasts between two and 10 seconds, depending on the configuration of the discharge-pipe run, minimizing power consumption and noise level. The latter is comparable to that of a conventional toilet flushing.

  • No inlet filters or screens to change: The lack of filters and screens reduces callbacks while also eliminating routine maintenance chores required by other pumps. The enlarged pumping chamber of the SANISWIFT is able to handle lint and hair that cause so many pump failures.

The newest addition to the Saniflo line of fully automatic gray water pumps, the SANISWIFT carries a list price of $215. The unit carries a CSA mark for plumbing and electrical use in the United States as well as Canada. Saniflo warranties the SANISWIFT, including all electrical components, for 24 months.

Note: Unlike Saniflo’s macerating systems – Saniplus, Sanibest and Sanigrind – the SANISWIFT must be used solely with gray water. It is not intended for handling wool strands, sanitary napkins, paper towels, bones, liquid greases, and so forth.

An outlet on the lid of the SANISWIFT unit is provided for connecting to a venting system, as required by local plumbing codes.
